About Los Bermejos
The winemaking property of Los Bermejos can be traced back several centuries. It was formerly known as Bodega Los Bellos, after it’s old owner Juan Bello. Parts of the facility, that are still used today, were constructed back in 1920. It was not until 2001 though, under new ownership, that the quality of their wine started to skyrocket. Winemaker and now owner, Ignacio Valdera, is focused on making wine that expresses his unique volcanic environment in Lanzarote. Working closely with local grape growers, Ignacio is constantly striving to provide a pure expression of the island’s remarkable terroir with minimal cellar intervention. Since the turn of the century, Los Bermejos has taken a place on Lanzarote’s forefront for both enological and viticultural improvements.
